Ok I'm not sure why I was doing it, but I was just watching the Emmy's and it seems that they just used their 7 second delay to cut away from something that Sally Field was in the process of saying. From the lead-in it was probably anti-war.
She gotten to "If mothers ruled the world, there wouldn't be any go..." and then the audio went out and they cut away to a far shot so you couldn't even read her lips. I wonder what she said? Anyone know ??
Later(just now) one of the speakers for the Saprano's made a comment referring to what Sally said with "If gangsters ruled the world ... Maybe they do..."
There has already been mention of this on a few blogs (with at least one misquote), but no-one has the missing audio.
Earlier one of the announcers had stated that there were live bloggers in the audience, so hopefully one of them will be posting soon and we can find out what happened.
Update: 11:25PM (Eastern) According to The Rocker Report Sally's missing time started with "G*d damn war!" which would make the sentence's obvious guess correct. "If mothers ruled the world, there wouldn't be any G*d damn war!" . The cut out was longer, but now we have some info. It was stated that the cut-out was only in the USA and that Canada had an uninterrupted feed. So this makes a technical glitch unlikely.
I'm still interested in what the rest of the missing segment contained.
Update-2: Monday 12:05AM (Eastern) From the SF Gate:
Sally Field praised mothers when she won an Emmy for lead actress in a drama series but also let her anti-war sentiments surface with a God-related swear word.
"And, let's face it, if the mothers ruled the war, there would be no (expletive) wars in the first place," Field said.
A typo? "ruled the war" or "ruled the world" ? I just watched the footage again. Its supposed to be world.

Update-3 : Monday 12:21AM (Eastern) I had hoped that it was a copy of the un-bleeped footage, but the video is just the USA version with the cut-away.
